Sample e-gold digital delivery store
e-gold account holders may wish to sell images/files (any kind of media deliverable over the web) - but you may not have full control over your web server - possibly all you can do is place .html pages on your homepage. in this case, how do you collect e-gold payments and deliver your goods to the payer when he pays?
this page demonstrates a possible method. it uses the e-gold shopping cart interface to accept payment from the buyer. upon successful return, the user is directed to an obfuscated directory/file name that is only generated (by client side javascript code) with correct payment data. You will notice that all the pages are html (no CGIs, ASPs or server side code) so that they can be hosted on any web site. the buyer must have javascript enabled in order to receive delivery.

1
Animated .GIF of walking cat - view for $0.10 worth of e-gold |

2
Shareware - download for $.50 worth of e-gold |
Implementation notes:
No, this is not bulletproof...a talented individual could examine the html/javascript,
do some work and figure out the hidden directory name on his/her own....yes,
a nice challenge, but worth the 0.10? :) (I've left the javascript unobfuscated...which
would make his/her work that much harder)
Yes, this requires the end user to have javascript enabled. A nice addition
would be to check that right up front on this page and not even allow the
purchase to begin. I'll add that another day.
Many variations are possible...this should give you some incentive and a starting
point.
If you are unhappy
with the delivered product and wish a refund, you can
and we'll spend your e-metal back to you. :)
